Why we built CT App Center

Every day, thousands of people fall victim to phishing, scams and online fraud. We built CT App Center because we believe everyone deserves access to professional-grade security tools — not just enterprises.

2024 — Q1
The idea
After personally losing money to an online scam, our founder decided to build the tool he wished had existed. The concept for CheckTrusted was born — a community-powered trust database for the internet.

2024 — Q2
Building the foundation
Segurança Digital Lda. was incorporated in Aveiro. The first version of the CT Scan engine was built, connecting to 40+ global threat databases. CheckTrusted.com launched in private beta.

2025 — Q1
CT App Center launches
CT App Center launched publicly with 4 apps — CT Scan, CT Guard, CT Verify and CT Vault. The platform reached 10,000 users in the first month.

Growing the platform
CT Alert and CT Extension are in development. Our community has grown to 320,000+ users and we've helped flag 48,000+ scams. The mission continues.
